History of Harvest

Brief History of Harvest Bible Chapel – St. Vincent

In late 2006 God began to impress upon a young theology student the need for a church plant in his homeland of St. Vincent. After completion of his MA Al Blake, his wife and their family moved back to St. Vincent to begin the preliminary stages of planting Harvest St. Vincent.

The church launched in September 2010 with much curiosity from the native Vincentians, curiosity because no other church on the island had ever met in a former nightclub. But God was at work and continues to be. Our average attendance is around 350 each Sunday and continues to grow and lives are drastically being changed.

History of Harvest Bible Chapel - Chicago

Beginning in September 1988, Harvest Bible Chapel met in a conference room with 18 followers of Jesus Christ who wanted a different kind of church in the Chicago area—a church where Christ would be worshiped in Spirit and in Truth. God led them to call 27-year-old James MacDonald to be their pastor in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.

By God’s hand, Harvest Bible Chapel has grown into a healthy, functioning fellowship of over 10,000 individuals on four Chicago land campuses. Recently, Harvest Bible Fellowship launched a church planting initiative that has led to growing churches throughout the United States, Canada, and even Romania.

“The whole focus of Harvest is vertical, not horizontal. We know it’s God.

We don’t want to do anything that isn’t empowered by God’s Spirit and blessed by God.”

Dr. James MacDonald, Founding Pastor, Harvest Bible Chapel
